PRESS: Large Turkish developers may stay in Russia to finish deals
MOSCOW, Dec 24 (PRIME) -- The government has compiled a list of Turkish companies, including Enka, Renaissance Construction, and Odak Group, which will continue their work in Russia until contracts are fulfilled, , business daily Kommersant reported Thursday citing federal officials.
On Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said that the list includes developers that have long-term contracts. A federal government official told Kommersant that the list has not been approved yet, and it includes Enka, IC Ictas, Renaissance Construction, Ant Yapi, Mebe, and Odak Group.
Another government source told the business daily that the companies will leave Russia after their contracts are fulfilled. “No one will sign new contracts with them,” the source said.
A representative for the Construction, Housing, and Utilities Ministry declined to comment.
Relations between the two countries worsened after Turkey downed a Russian Su-24 jet in November. In response, Russia introduced economic restrictions against Turkey, including a ban on some food imports and a restriction of construction companies’ operation in the country, and also abolished a vis-free regime with Turkey.
